Five of us hiked 6 miles in the snow, cleared about 20 trees off the trail, and built a walkway thru a creek out of large stones. It was a blast. Since Hurricane Ivan hit the trail, the North Carolina Bartram Trail Society has cleared about 300 trees off of 70 miles of trail. This is actually more fun than just hiking or backpacking.
